The idea of the founding members of the Calmasin nel Cor Cultural Association is very simple yet revolutionary: to digitize the memory, history, and stories of the people from the past, present, and future of the village of Calmasino (today a district of the Municipality of Bardolino, in the province of Verona (VR), Veneto region, Northeast Italy).
Everything that is material, heart, and spirit of the time that was and that is today becomes alive and current through the application of a QR code to every object and subject (monument, place, landscape, economic activity, association, person, etc.).
An innovation that, although it cannot be patented, was born on September 30, 2012 (on the occasion of the annual Ancient Fair of St. Michael, Patron of Calmasino) and aims to be the first prototype of a digital archive of human heritage starting from a village of 1,000 inhabitants: a world suspended in time where past, present, and future coexist and can be studied, inspire other ideas, suggest life paths.
Anyone can contribute so that the greatest number of information about Calmasino, its stories, places, and people can be found on the system.
The founding members intend to involve all the inhabitants of Calmasino, the Parish, the Nursery, the elementary school, and any other entity that can provide a testimony.
The platform allows consulting the various paths starting from the so-called “stations”: it will begin with 13 stations that will tell the most evocative places of Calmasino, allowing the curious to undertake a journey through time and beyond time that will touch on: Agriculture, Architecture, Landscape, History and People, etc.
A QR Code will speed up the connection from the mobile device (smartphone and tablet) to the dedicated page of the website calmasino.it.
The Calmasin nel Cor Cultural Association created “CALMASIN NEL QR” with the aim of being a pioneer in technological innovation for villages and communities that must leverage digital technologies and tools as a powerful lever capable of preserving memory, (re)building identity to build the future.
It is the first operation of Digital Literary Epic.
